  • Get an overview of your days and weeks – when is busy, when less so, which classes are well behaved, which poorly. (How to survive)

  • Get involved in any social activities to develop bonds with other teachers who can support you (How to survive)
  • Start to get to know your induction mentor (How to survive)
  • Plan a time to sit down with your support staff and get to know their skills, interests and expertise (How to survive)
  • Start to develop a good working relationship with your HoD (How to survive)
  • Start to get to know non-teaching staff (How to survive)
  • Keep referring to your behaviour policy in every lesson (How to survive)
  • Emphasise what time-out is and what it means (Classroom behaviour)
